Elevation: Namche Bazar (3440m) to Deboche (3800m)
Estimated Distance / Time: 15km / 8 hours
Hari ni merupakan hari ke-4 kami di EBC trek. Dan agenda hari ni, kami akan ke Deboche yang terletak pada ketinggian 3800m. So, basically kami akan climb another 400m. Pagi tu cuaca cerah tapi masih Kabus tebal menutup sebahagian view puncak gunung disekeliling Namche. Tak nampak tanda-tanda kami akan nampak full mountain view from Namche this morning. Redho.

From Namche, kami akan hike follow the same route yang kami guna nak ke Everest View Lodge cuma nanti kami akan ke arah yang menghala ke EBC. Basically, from our hotel The Nest Namche memang akan sedikit steep all the way up about 1 hour juga before sampai route yang sedikit mendatar. And it was an easy walk after that with beautiful view all the way to Phunki.

It was an easy walk from Namche to Phunki. Upon reaching Phunki, we will ascend towards Tengboche, a village that houses the very famous Tengboche monastery before arrive in Deboche. We hiked for about 8 hours today, stopped at Phunki for lunch and heading to Tengboche (3870m) before descending to Deboche (3820m). From Tengboche to Deboche, we will descend through a rhododendron forest which will take approximately 20mins walk to reach the guesthouse.

It was another beautiful day here in the Khumbu Valley and finally we had our first views of Mt. Everest. Actually, if the weather is ok in Namche, boleh je nampak Everest walaupan dari jauh tapi since yesterday & early this morning still cloudy, so, not our lucky day.

From Tengboche to Deboche, kami akan lalu Hutan Rhododendron yang mengambil masa kira-kira 20min untuk sampai ke guesthouse kami. Alhamdulillah, we finally arrived at Deboche before 5pm.

It was -5 degC when we arrived at Deboche. Tapi malam tu -10degC at Deboche (info from other group from Malaysia). Sejuk yang sampai tahap nak buat apa-apa pun tak mampu, sambil mengenangkan nasib yang bakal aku hadapi untuk hari-hari berikutnya. We spend most of the time at dining hall sebab ada traditional heater, so, tak ada lah rasa sejuk sangat. Bila dah rasa nak tidur tu, baru kami pulang ke bilik. We still received 4G signal (with simcard we purchased at Thamel) at this level cuma tak berapa strength. Selepas ni, dah sampai Dingboche, no more signal. Tapi as usual, ada saja option lain kalau nak terus connect to the outside world, No worries. Standby duit saja.
Kali ni kami stay di Hotel yang sama Bersama group Malaysia yang kami jumpa semalam, Hotel Rhododendron. Dan sepanjang trekking pun kami banyak jalan bersama. Nampak sangat kan, pace Malaysian ni lebih kurang sama saja. Actually, kat Deboche ni tak banyak guesthouse yang available & sebahagian guesthouse di sini pun masih under construction for future business.

Kalau ikutkan itinerary asal, kami sepatutnya stay di Tengboche tapi atas sebab tertentu kami stay kat depan sikit daripada Tengboche which is Deboche walaupun Deboche ni terletak bawah sikit daripada Tengboche dalam 50m. Anyway, esok kami akan lalu sini pun nak ke destinasi yang seterusnya, Dingboche.
Ohh, kalau tiba-tiba rasa sesak nafas masa tidur tu, cuba buka tingkap bilik sikit. Jangan buka luas sangat, keras nanti. Just nak bagi udara masuk. Aku pun macam baru notice yang semua bilik kat EBC Trek ni, mostly tutup penuh & no proper ventilation. Tapi memang ada masa tu, aku akan terjaga waktu malam sebab rasa sesak nafas. Jealous tengok Fad yang sentiasa tidur nyenyak seolah-olah tak ada apa yang berlaku. So, since malam tu, aku mula buka tingkap sikit nak bagi udara masuk atas nasihat Deepak our guide.
