Trip kami ke EBC bermula the next day after kami sampai di Kathmandu. No more delay or leisure day, hari ke-2 terus ke Lukla. And bermula lah our epic journey to EBC. Alhamdulillah, smooth journey on our first day.

Sila simpan ticket ni sampai habis trip, mana lah tahu kan, emergency nak claim insurance, so, semua detail kena ada |

For flight to Lukla, kami fly dengan SITA Air. Nervous akak. Alhamdulillah, we managed to fly on the same day. 25mins jer tapi seram juga especially masa nak take-off & landing kat Lukla. Nak dapat view Himalaya range yang ohsem sila berebut seat sebelah kiri.
Kapal terbang ni kecil je, siap ada stewardess. Ada safety briefing& dapat gula-gula juga, hahaha. Total penumpang 14pax.

Salah satu cabaran nak ke trek EBC ni adalah flight ke Lukla or back from Lukla. Kalo weather tak ok, no flight on that day. Kena tunggu esok pulak. Tak ok juga esok, the next day pulak, so on & so forth. Banyak kes juga sebenarnya sebab tak semua bernasib baik. Ramai Malaysian yang kami jumpa stranded sampai 2-5days either at Kathmandu or Lukla Airport. So, Kena ada backup plan juga. Salah satu back-up plan adalah naik helicopter tapi yang ni dah kira budget sendiri pulak. Bukan murah, satu heli pun 4-5pax pun USD1700 to Lukla. Tapi ada juga agent yang akan support half of the heli budget. Macam satu group Malaysia yang kami jumpa kat Kathmandu yang dah stranded 2 hari, agent dia support half juga but still nak kena top-up juga on top of main budget. Boleh pulak helicopter terbang cuaca tak berapa nak ok. Menjadi keraguan juga kadang-kadang tu, emmhhh. Ada sindiket ke apa. Another option, laluan darat yang mengambil masa 3-4 days juga nak sampai (aduh, yang ni the last option kot kalau dah tak ada option lansung).
Ok, back to main story.
Kami tiba di Lukla Airport 30min later. Alhamdulillah, smooth landing. Masa kami sampai tu, dah ada group yang tengah standby nak naik pula. Kiranya, non-stop jugalah flight keluar masuk. Maybe sebab cuaca tengah ok at that time.

One of the World's Most Dangerous Airport |
|
Alhamdulillah, cuaca cantik hari ini di Lukla |
Tenzing-Hillary Airport a.k.a Lukla Airport, is a small airport in the town of Lukla. This is the place where most people start the climb to Mount Everest Base Camp. There are daily flights between Lukla and Kathmandu during daylight hours in good weather. Although the flying distance is short, High winds, cloud cover, and changing visibility often mean flights can be delayed or the airport closed. The surrounding mountain, thin air, highly changeable weather and the airport's sloping & short runway (about 500m long), make it one of the most challenging landings in the world.
