History…
Bukit Kutu is located at Kubu Bharu, in the state of Selangor. At 1053m or 3,456 ft height, it was once a colonial hill station called ‘Treacherous Hill’. Bukit Kutu was used as a British administration station to overlook Kuala Kubu Bahru in the 1900's. It was destroyed during the war after bombed by the Japanese. Today, the only remaining of the bungalows on top of Bukit Kutu were the chimney, fireplace and well.
At the top of Bukit Kutu, the rock summit nearby offers a full 360-degree of unobstructed view of the surrounding Kuala Kubu Bharu area, and the Straits of Malacca Straits or even Sumatra on a clear day. On a clear day, one can see a nice view of Genting Highland.

On the day of event…
Actually, this event happened last month tapi disebabkan kesibukan aku nak update blog terpaksa lah aku postpone kan citer Bukit Kutu. Anyway, It was very challenging trip sebab nye before kita orang start hiking… opps, before kita orang sampai pekan KKB lagi hujan dah start mencurah-curah turun… and takde pun tanda2 nak start berhenti. Fuhh, Kalau lah KKB ni dekat dengan Kajang or area2 KL jer memang aku postpone jer trip nie. Buat the next day. End of Story kan.
Perjalanan dari Petronas Taman Samudera ke Pekan KKB Cuma mengambil masa 1 jam jer. Started at 5.20 a.m from Petronas Samudera thru Ulu Yam. On the way tu, kami singgah solat Suboh di Masjid yang aku tak tahu nama dia. After that, proceed back to pekan KKB. Alhamdulillah, kita orang sampai around 6.45 a.m and hujan sangat lebat time tu. Sebab dah sampai awal kan… guide plak baru call inform dia org still OTW, so, kita orang pun breakfast dulu lah. Pekena Roti canai & The Tarik... sambil2 tu buat2 sesi perkenalan dengan muka2 baru yang baru nak kenal gunung… tapi tak kena time lah pulak kan. Major Bala pun happy sangat sampai citer GGK kat Mount KK 2 years back pun jadi bahan citer dia. Major Bala ni dah di transfer kan ke KL and his already a year here. Cuma tang nak buat activity for hiking tu saja dia takde member. Nampak nye lepas ni terpaksa lah aku ajak dia skali join aku gi hiking mana-mana. Anyway sir, you're really helpful & still strong... hehehe.
We stayed about 1 hour juga lah sebab nak tunggu hujan berhenti. Tapi, semua... harapan semata-mata... makin lebat adelah. Huish ni kalu sambung tido balik ni memang tak sedar dah ni.

Guide sampai2 jer, kita orang pun terus gerak. Hujan lagi masa ni. Tapi our guide cakap nanti kalu tunggu hujan stop lagi lambat nak naik. OK.

Continue Story...
From pekan KKB, we passed thru Kuala Kubu Bharu Dam until we met a signboard showing direction to the right to Kampung Pertak. Take this route, further drive thru Kampung Orang Asli Pertak until you reach a suspension bridge. This marked your ending point. So, just park your cars at the roadside. Since the parking space is limited so, car-pooling is advisable for those come in a big group. And we’re the first to reach there. So, dapat parking dekat sikit lah. Alhamdulillah.
After a short briefing by our guide, Uteh… we started our journey at 9.00 a.m. And that time still raining. And sangat sejuk…. Wooooo. But, we have no choice other than to proceed. And the rain stopped only 1 hour later. At this time, aku still tak dapat nak keluar kan camera aku sebab hujan still mencurah-curah… so, I missed taking photos at the very beginning trip. A bit frustrated tapi tulah takde orang pon yang berani nak amek risiko sebab hujan masih turun. Sapa suruh memanjat time hujan2 ni kan.

The Well... the first thing we saw upon reaching Bukit Kutu's Peak |
We reached the peak around 2.30p.m. A bit late from our estimated time. Tapi nak buat macam mana kan banyak sangat stop sebab adik aku Dayah (first timer) critical sangat. Rasa bersalah pulak ajak dia ikut. Tapi dia juga yang beria-ia nak ikut. Last2, terpaksa lah ikut rentak dia. Jalan slow & steady. Sebenarnye, memandang kan keadaan adik aku yang agak serius, asyik cramp jer... aku memang tahu yang kita orang akan sampai lagi lambat tapi sebab aku paksa juga dia jalan so, terpaksalah dia kuat semangat. Tapi another 30min mencanak nak sampai ke peak... Dayah tarik diri sebab tak larat dah. Memandangkan ramai sangat kawan Guide yang ikut, so, Uteh offer nak turun dulu bawa Dayah and the rest proceed naik sampai peak including me. Yang agak aku terkejut tu… dayah boleh turun dalam masa 2 jam saja. Hebat… naik 6 jam. Kena dera dengan guide.
Menjejak Sejarah Bukit Kutu... the Chimney |
The Fire Place... one of the remaining from the past colonial |
Actually, aku missed one place... part of the bungalow... the stairs etc. Macam mana aku boleh tak perasan... tapi memang aku tak nampak pun. Dah balik baru aku tahu rupa nye banyak route lagi kat atas tu kena lalu kalu nak tengok semua peninggalan Bangalow British ni. Arrgghhhh.... rugi nye. Dah turun tak guna lagi lah nak menyesal kan. The only way, plan another trip.

By 6.30 pm.... semua pun dah selamat turun and kami terus proceed to the starting point. At that time, already 7pm. We moved back to pekan KKB and dropped by kat masjid dulu... mandi & solat. After that, having dinner first at Pekan KKB before back to KL.
